About this Event

As we kickoff college and scholarship application season, SuccessBaseMass is working with Yale's Linda Coleman to teach students how to best present themselves throughout their essay-writing. Though this workshop is geared towards students that have not started their applications yet, all who would like help or inspiration with their personal essay-writing are welcome to join!

August 20, 4:00-6:00 pm EST

Topics include:
  • Steps to writing a personal essay (from brainstorming to proofreading!)

  • How students can (and must!) channel their unique voice in their writing

  • How to have a non-generic essay

  • Which essay topics to avoid, and other do's or don'ts

  • How to make every word of your essay count

  • How to show, not tell (engaging your reader through vivid storytelling)

  • And much more!
